We are almost at the end of the year, with only 1 day remaining of 2021, and we all would be promoted to 2022. At the start of every year, we all used to set resolutions as if in one year the whole life is gonna change, no doubt a year has the potential to change the whole life if you utilize your time and efficiency properly.
Now I have a question for you all, do you achieve all your goals set last year?
Take your time to reflect upon how many goals you achieved, if you didn’t realize a certain resolution then find the reason.
Today I am going to provide you with some easy ways to set your goal and achieve as well in a set time frame.
So let’s start doing the most important thing, that is visualizing, planning the year ahead.
When you divide your work into easily manageable pieces, chances of success increase exponentially. As it’s mentioned by different life coaches and authors of personal development books it takes 21 days to change a habit. The same concept applies in achieving any goal, whether it’s a new year resolution or something else.
So instead of setting a goal for the entire year you can plan your week, month then automatically your planning succeeds, and you can complete your resolution for the entire year.
- Reflect and measure: before setting a new resolution for the coming year, take time to reflect back, assess things, measure how you spent your year, ask questions of yourself. Find the reason for performing well or not so well. Find whether you were going in the right direction or you should have changed the way of doing things. Note down your important findings, make required changes, and find ways to better yourself. If you didn’t perform well in a particular area of life, find why?. Find the reason for your bottleneck, analyze everything deliberately. Then find a new way and rock your coming year with success and achievements.
- Plan your entire goal on paper: encrypting goals on paper has its own value. According to most successful people in all walks of life, writing your goals down on paper is very important. When you write things down, you give your idea a physical form, and chances of manifesting those ideas are increased manifold. Planning is very important in achieving any goal irrespective of small or big goals. When you plan things and write them down, you know where you are going, you know your destination and you also know by which means you can get there.
- Focus on the top concern: Areas of concern are different in each individual’s life depending on age, responsibility, level of ambition, physical and mental capacity. Choose your area of top concern and it could be 2 or 3 or sometimes more than three. Whatever the area of your concern is, make a proper plan for each concerned area. Make sure your plans are practical, generally what happens, people set unrealistic goals and when they fail to achieve those goals they feel the burden and feel hopeless.
- Work on yourself: Improving yourself every day is very important. This improvement includes physical health, mental acumen, and spiritual wellbeing. In the new year resolution, you can include learning new skills, developing an all-around persona, and a sound mindset. If you want to get into shape, do yoga and other types of exercises or you can join a gym. And be consistent in your workout and exercises. Pay attention to your looks, behavior, mindset, and inner beauty.
- Consider your finance and budget: Finance is a very important aspect of your life, you must consider it in the new year’s resolution. Whatever you earn at least save 20 percent. And invest it on regular basis. No doubt where you are living and what you are doing, what are the aspirations in your life. money is important. Not just earning money is important but also how much you save and how you spend it is also important. Go with the best rule of managing personal finance which is 50:30:20, which means expending 50% on your monthly needs, 30% of income on wants, and 20% on saving.
- Work on your mental acumen: Read books that develop your mindset. It’s very important. Spending money on personal development is very important. When it’s come to developing your mental ability, reading plays a very important role in developing your imagination and it also improves your emotional wellbeing. Reading not only builds up your mental muscles but also has the power to improve a strong personality and prepare you for life challenges. So this year devote your time and a little money in reading books.
- Polish relationship: relationship is very important in our life. In today’s busy life we are left with no time to give to our family and friends. This year try to prioritize your relations. We, humans, are social animals and there are emotional needs, social needs which can be fulfilled only in relationships. This new year, resolve to save time for the one who you need most in time of trouble, whether it’s financial, or emotional. Loneliness leads to frustration and relationships are the reason for so many happy things.
- Declutter your mind, space, and phone: Decluttering is very important, having a clean space is very important for your productivity as well as your mental well-being. If you remove unnecessary objects from your table, from your room, or from your home you are not just clearing clutter from your home but you are practicing a special kind of self-love or self-care. You would stay focused on your work, you can experience clarity of thought in a clutterless home. To declutter your mind you can practice mindfulness and meditation. Digital detoxification is also needed. In the era of digitalization, especially post covid because of remote work you need to spend a considerable amount on gadgets like phones, tab, laptops, etc. so keep cleaning and decluttering your phone, tab, laptop, inbox, file, etc.
- Update your plan: We humans have the tendency of evolving with time and experience so it’s not necessary to always stick with the plan with time and keep updating your plan. Add new and remove which is not going to add any value in your life.
- Have faith and chant mantra, say affirmations: believing in yourself and supreme power is very important. Having faith is very important, with belief comes vision, strength, which ignites and creates resilience. So writing prayer in a prayer journal and saying affirmation is very important.
In short
we can say that setting goals and achieving them are two different things. People set some difficult goals, every year on the eve of the new year but because of inconsistency they barely achieve them.
